Where should I start reading the Batman comics?

I know bits about Batman that I've picked up from the cartoon and a few films and I'd like to find out about his character more. Which comic should I start reading about Batman? I don't know where to start.Where should I start reading the Batman comics?
If you're just started following DC completely rebooted everything, so you're in a good place. Pick up DC's New 52 Batman, Batman and Robin, Detective Comics, and The Dark Knight. All just came out a month or two ago and should have either just published issue 2, or will be in a week or 2.

But, if you're looking primarily for older stuff, here's a list:

Hush Volume 1 and 2: These go into all of Batman's primary villains and goes into his back story a little too.

Batman: Year One: This goes into the beginning of Bruce Wayne's career as Batman.

The Dark Knight: This talks about Batman when he's much older.Where should I start reading the Batman comics?
I agree with Van Alan except don't waste your time on The Dark Knight. It's a terribly written book.Where should I start reading the Batman comics?
